Never trust this hospital. My father went in for back surgery 80 years old) with a guy named Marcotte- we were told overnight stay- we live two hours away. Dropped him off, went back, went to work. Hospital calls- no overnight, sending him home. Drive back to pick up a yellow man that cried out in pain for two hours over every little bump. 24 hours later passes out on top of my mother in the bathroom. Fire department, ambulance, local hospital. Back home takes pain medication- proceeds to have myself and mother kill bugs that do not exist- packs for golf trips- thinks now is someone’s birthday or now we are going to a wedding… this lasted three days. Fuck New England Baptist hospital and fuck Marcotte.
What are the side effects of this surgery? Does it make it better or worse?
I have spinal stenosis L4 L5 S 1 in a wheelchair urinary incontinence dexdroscoliosis bulging disc s degenerative disc deasease
And facits symptoms

Sure helps me to know what is going to happen, thank you for sharing.
Help 🙏 I'm in so much pain 🥺 I'v been suffering for 10 years now and 2 back surgeries later I'm so much worse than I was before. I'm living in the bed. My body is being crushed to death, burned alive and electrocuted. Lower back to feet
I can’t believe the lady lifting a milk crate up and then down to the floor with her knees kept straight.
I revived an epidural shot from my pain management doctor and a few days later I began having attacks of dysesthesia. Awful, Dante-esque pain!
Love that you got Larry David to star in this video!
What is neurological deterioration? If I develop drop foot over the course of a month is that degeneration? If my ED goes from a C+ to an F in a matter of weeks is that degeneration. In 75 and otherwise healthily except for a latent infectious agent in my body that I must take antibiotics for, indefinitely. The infection made it necessary to attempt 4 knee replacements before one was done without subsequent infection. This did too but a pic line of anti biotics got rid of before the joint was effected. I’m walking on the new modified joint now. It was implanted in June. Then came the infection which slowed recovery down. But I’m moving again. Walked 2 miles twice last week no sweat, we’ll, not much sweat. They had to remove 6” of my femur and a bunch of bone and tissue that previous infection had destroyed. I used a surgeon in a small town hospital and did not vet his credentials. I was told this was a “no brainer” procedure. It’s not. I would recommend not doing it if you are over 50.
He missed a few symptoms like loss of control of the bowel (severe), varied levels of ED in men (the nerves to the gans (sp?). Tip of the penis shaft, drop foot.
I have lumbar stenosis and sometimes I take tramadol. I don’t care about the stigmas if it gives me a good day it makes me feel happy.
Physio =hospital for me there scared of lawsuit.disgusting to have.slow drain to total disability
Jesus!!! Larry David went there??? LOL
Who's Larry David?
Thank you

Is normal bicycle riding ok?
Thank you for letting me know there is still life inspite of the condition and pains.
Pain on both legs are excrutiating its heavy cant stand for long nor can walk for 2 to 5 minutes
my legs feel heavy around the knees, but no pain in the legs unless i sit. Do you get back pain sitting?
@@erenix3909 not so much back pain sitting
Thank you doctor for educating un(people with spinal stenosis) and giving hope that upon embracing the condition and doing something to keep goin and living is understatement.
I lost my job due to Lumbar Spinal Stenosis and denied disability 3 times!!! I have had physical therapy and currently on Oxy but I hate taking it!! I only take it when the pain is excruciating!! I am in pain everyday!! Walking, driving and sitting long periods are painful. I have to limit activities. Water aerobics felt good in that water. I hate that I can't walk without pain. I currently can't work due to Lumbar Spinal Stenosis!!
same here…do you get leg/knee weakness standing in place? damn they denied that?
@@erenix3909 yes at times!! I'm going to try again with another lawyer soon. Thanks!
good description of surgery.
I can stand up. move for 10 min, then flat on the floor for 20-30 min, I can reach that pain level of 8 very quickly. That's when I'm down for longer. Sitting is only good for an hour and all of this is accumulative to produce pain and substantial fatigue. It takes a few days to recover from accumulative. I now plan carefully and listen to my body to keep moving. I refuse surgery and opioids. As long as I can still get up and walk it is better than grinding and fusing bone that is already degenerating. I meet that subtle threshhold point and back off. It's like a game and I plan to win.
Best for video
GW. The best video I´ve seen on SS. I´m an 86 yr. old living in Central America on a miserable UK OA pension. Diagnosed with SS at L4, L5 about 4 years ago. Laminectomy shortly after proved ineffective. 3 epidural blocks since, only moderately useful. Swim 40 minutes or so every 2/3 days which helps a bit. Will try to increase excercise. Perhaps a walking stick would help.
Very helpful video. Thank you
,
For my dad its not 5 or 10 min it's seconds
Wat

My spinal cord is fracture I'm not surgery what happen do not surgery of spinal .

doctor i have a L4 L5 S1 i just got my new i had 3 MRI but this one says L5 S1 broad posterior disc hernation which is slightly more prominent than on the prior study deforms the ventral epidural space and there is left greater than the right foraminal extension with abutment of exiting left L5 root and narrowing of the foramina diminished disc space height ventral extension of the disc remains and discogenic chages and scmorl;s node in the end platates.mild facet hypertrophic changes remain L4L5 S1 ,,,,,doc my friend told me narrowing part of stenosis ,doctor can you help me out with this ,,thank i been watching ur video;s there very good ,,thank you,,ps my doc can be fixed with endoscopic laser surgery, doc what do you think,
Thanks for this video. I had X-ray and was diagnosed without spinal stenosis and was giving PT two sessions a week for six weeks but my sciatica and piriformis symptoms still linger after 5 months. I have to do continue to go the gym . stationary bike . Strengthening ham and quads and stretches are doable and challenging to loosen still hurts and tight ...I am going to the Dr again hope to get an MRI, but the DR does not think I need one . How long does these symptoms last? Thank you. A great video production. Have me a lot to think about it . Surgery or not?

Excellent advice
Hmm when you have to have emergency surgery like me ! What happens cause this was not used but it’s important for my next surgery?
You would think we would have better treatment in the year 2020, but you would be wrong!
Yes we humans think everything can be fixed...but are today's best robotics better than evolution has progressed to? It's clearly very difficult tricky surgery with uncertain guaranteed positve outcomes. Much damage is done in getting to the problem. I've had 42 years of back (disc) problems...every time i've been begging for an operation of some sort the advice has always been to go away and strengthen up which has worked everytime upto now. SS has been diagnosed - numbness in both feet when standing. Can't walk for more than 200 meters without a sit down. Upto 5 months ago i'd walk for 1:20 mins ( 6 miles) every day. Last phone ( 3 years) got 9 million steps on it . In UK today the wait is around 2 years for an operation! Oh well, enough about my problems... i enjoy lots of things so gotta not be too sad.
I was denied Disability 3 times!!! I have been diagnosed with Lumbar Spinal Stenosis and I am in pain everyday!! Lower back and the left side of my hip!!! Doctor took me out of work indefinitely!!
